On the last Saturday of each month, Fistral Beach Clean is organised by Beach Care and volunteers join together to remove marine and other litter from the beautiful Fistral Beach, protecting the ocean and beach.

With over 80 beach cleans completed, the latest beach clean took place on Saturday 27th May 2017.

Andy Goodall from Beach Care who organises the beach cleans thanked all of the volunteers who gave up some of their Saturday to help look after Fistral.

Fistral is a busy beach with many people enjoying spending their here for a variety of purposes: from surfers enjoying the waves, people walking their dogs and families enjoying a day out at the beach. From the dunes and beach 8 bags of rubbish (marine litter, disposable bbqs, cans, glass, nails, bottles and food wrappers) were removed.

Some photos from the dunes can be seen here https://www.facebook.com/pg/fistralbeachclean/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1979273708973466

Beach Care also thanked John Lenton and the staff of The Fistral Beach Bar for the warm welcome, good coffee and food.

The next beach clean takes place Saturday 24 June meeting below Sea Spray Café, South Fistral, at around 08:45am for a prompt 09:00am start.  The beach clean lasts approximately one hour.

Please consider when next on the beach taking a few minutes out to pick up and remove marine litter.

*** Please note the beach cleans for June, July and August start at 09:00 on the last Saturday of each month ***
